Method:
Heat a little oil in kadai, add the gram dhal and fry for a minute (till golden brown, don`t over fry it).Allow it to cool and soak it in 2 tbsp of water. Now rinse the water and grind the gram dhal along with grated coconut, green chilli, salt and little water to a fine paste.Season it with mustard seeds and curry leaves. You can also use Split Bengal Gram dhal or pottukadalai instead of gram dhal / kadalai paruppu. You can also serve this coconut chutney as sidedish for hot Vadai or Bonda.
