Ingredients:Parangikai - cut into cubes (one cup)
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Jeera / jeeragam - 1/4 tsp
Gram dhal / Kadalai paruppu - 1 tbsp
Toor dhal / Thuvaram paruppu - 1 tbsp
Vendhayam - 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida / Perungayam - 1/4 tsp
Red chilly - 2 nos
Tamarind - lemon size
Sesame oil / gingelly oil - 2 tbsp
Method :
Heat gingelly oil in a heavy bottom kadai.Addmustard seeds, jeera, spilt red chillies, thuvaram paruppu, kadalai paruppu, vendhayam, perungayam. When the mustard seeds and jeera splutters, add the diced parangikkai, curry leaves and sambar powder. Saute for a couple of minutes.Now add the tamarind extract.When the kuzhambu starts to boil, mix 1 tbsp of rice flour with water and add this paste to get a thicker consistency.
